- 1/2" BSPT Size – Check Your Inner Diameter First: This cap fits 1/2 inch BSPT female thread (British Standard Pipe Tapered). The actual inner diameter is approx. 20mm – not 15mm, not 25mm. ✅ How to check: Measure the inside of your female cap or the outside of your male pipe. If your male thread measures about 20mm across the outer diameter, this 1/2" BSPT cap is correct. ❌ Will not fit: 1/2" NPT threads, 1/2" copper pipe, or 3/4" sprinkler connections. Please confirm your thread type before ordering.
- Reliable PVC Material – For Cold Water Only: Made of non-toxic, durable white PVC. Lightweight yet strong for long-term indoor/outdoor use. ⚠️ Maximum operating temperature: 140°F (60°C). Designed for cold water systems only – not for hot water, steam, or high-temperature applications.
- Wide Application – Seal Unused Sprinkler Heads & Lines: Ideal for closing off 1/2" BSPT male threaded pipes in: Sprinkler heads (check your brand thread standard – not compatible with Rain Bird 1800 series) Garden water lines & drip irrigation systems Cold-water supply lines 📌 Note: This is a sealing cap, not a nozzle cap. Works with most BSPT-based irrigation setups, but always test thread compatibility first.
- Easy Installation – Use Sealing Tape: No special tools needed. For a leak-proof seal: Wrap 5–8 turns of PTFE sealing tape (or use a rubber sealing ring) around the male threads. Screw the cap on hand-tight + ¼ turn. ⚠️ Do not overtighten – PVC can crack. Always test under low pressure before full system use.
- Important Reminders: ✅ This cap is for 1/2" BSPT male threads only (inner diameter ~20mm). ❌ Does NOT fit: 1/2" NPT, 1/2" copper pipe, 3/4" BSPT, or any metric threads. ❌ Not for hot water – max 140°F. 📦 You get 12 caps – enough for home or small commercial projects.
